SWIMMING is one of the best exercise i know. there are various style of swimming observed. one of the easiest style is breast stroke. the main thing that make this style easier is nobody gets tired or less tired than other styles.
my beginning
I had to go leave from work. And I went. Thirty days. Long time. But in that whole leave period I just practice my breast stroke swimming skill. Everyday no matter how much it has rained at that time I practiced daily. At least two hours daily.
But
No one was there to told me about the technique, Neither I searched swimming style on youtube. If I would, maybe I could know my mistakes. But I did not. I did not know about swimming, breast stroke.
diving course
Actually, I had been preparing myself for diving course. It is a special force training course where the school train you about diving as well as the physical fitness. It is a school in Kochi, INS Venduruthy, Naval Base, Indian Navy. They had settled some special criteria for this diving course.
equipment they have used
divator 324,mk iv : as breathing apparatus. weight approximately 18 kgs. when it get in water it has a buoyant weight of 3.8 kgs. it has a capacity 8 liters of normal air upto 300 atmospheric pressure. but generally it is kept upto 180 atmospheric pressure as safety precautioned.

special floating test is carried out in a special tank. that tank is specially designed with a height of 10 meter and width of 2 meter diameter. circular shaped. there are 4 step exercise you need to perform in that tank test. the total 10 minute is divided into 3 parts. first, 6 minutes. you need to float with on mask for 3 minutes followed by off mask for 3 minutes. the observer gives you signal for being off mask. then only you are allowed to be off mask. you are ordered for 5 minutes rest. second,3 minutes. you need to float for 3 minutes on mask till observer gives you signal for last step. last step is most important step. observer will gives you signal for off fins and off mask. you have to do off fins as well as off mask within 10 seconds. and your time start for sustaining of only one minutes.
if somebody fulfills all these criteria, he will be the diver.
Privileges
It’s a ship’s diving ‘Q’ course. Government had kept this as an opportunity to everybody who serves country as Indian navy and Indian coast guard. There has some special allowance (money) for this course. If you did pass this course, so many privileges are given to you as well as respect along with money. But it is a tough course. Not everybody can sustain this course.
how do apply
A signal came seeking volunteer for diving course. As an aspirant I came forward for that course. But there were four more volunteer for this course. Ship scheduled a swimming competition in between aspirants. Who ever satisfactorily pass all the criteria, only his name would forward for that course. I failed badly.
expectation hurts
I failed badly. And I started thinking the whole leave I just prepared my self for this swimming. I just wasted the whole leave for that swimming and I failed so badly. I broke. I thought it was not for me. It was out of my approach. The whole ship’s crew said bad about it. They started joke of it. Not in direct to me but I feel the shame. Every time I face someone first chapter he was telling about my diving course. It was really frustrating.
One day. I don’t know what happened. I went for swimming. There was a PTI in our ship. He told me about the swimming style and how must I do practice, so that it improves. He told me about you tube videos. I went through you tube videos. I started rectifying my mistakes in swimming style. I work on myself hard. Slowly it happened. I got the swimming speed. I rebuilt that hope in me. That PTI once told “कुछ भि हो जाए, उमीद मत हारना”. It really works. I made it.
I made it. And I supposed to thank to many of my friends for that.
One of them was my senior, he is not even a diver. But when I came to notice about my swimming skill earlier. He scolded me badly. He scolded me about my swimming technique. I just got frustration. How could somebody scold me about somethings, he was not even concerned with. It got the anger in me. I scolded him every time, every day I saw him in my mind. Because he is my senior. Every time when I was supposed to give up, I used that anger, that hate. And deep down the happiness in me died. I felt like incomplete without diving. I used that anger as my motivation. And never loose hope. And I got that, diving badge. And I got something about that senior. When he was in his age of me, he also got to that diving school. He was the unlucky one because of an incident. One of his mates died in that course. The whole class was dismissed. All of them got return unqualified. He was really unlucky about it. Deep down my respect for him reappeared. I can’t thank him for that he made to me. But one day I will thank him about that scolding. It really made me.
when i was getting into this job, i was a little scared of water. but can swim doggy style. in chilka it takes two months for me to pass the swimming exam. and takes another one month for passing the hundred meters swimming. the whole swimming i passed with doggy style. i was zero in running. now this was my past. and i am more of that. i can swim confidently. my running is not that of really fast. but i really improves myself.
if i can do all these things myself. i can say confidently. if there exist will power, you will find a way.

So, guys whatever happens in life, never ever loose hope. It is life. Life gives you ups and downs. That’s what make life interesting. Don’t go out of hope. John cena had told that its your fault that you got failed, you have to go through alone, rest is up to you either you stay down or wake up. Sometimes when you continuously failed out of something, it is obvious negative thoughts strikes you. But that is the actual time when you have to show the obsession you possess. Its your life, its your choice. Nobody has to change for it, but you.
कुछ भि हो जाए खुद को ये बोल्ते रहो ‘उमीद मत हारना’।
Hope is what life gives the meaning.
